My Parents
My mother commissioned me to paint these portraits as a birthday gift for my father. She wanted both paintings to hang over the buffet in the dining room so I designed them to fit in the space.
Head & Shoulders
Sometimes it's all about the face. The portrait below was painted on a white polychromed alumnum panel. I built up the surface by carefully glazing ink over a pencil drawing, then enriched and sealed the ink with an oil paint glaze.
